This 3 day course explores the principles, themes and pathway steps to effective stakeholder engagement.This APMG accredited course and exam syllabus is based on the publication: Practical People Engagement – Enabling Change through the Power of Relationships.

Key aims of this program is to develop understanding and competence in:

  • Leading and shaping engagement
  • Selecting the most appropriate engagement approaches and techniques for identifying, influencing and leading key people towards desired results and benefits.


By the completion of this training participants will be able to:

  • Play an active role in leading and shaping engagements
  • Understand stakeholder engagement principles to improve buy-in
  • Identify when to utilise practices and techniques through the who, how, when, engage and adapt pathway
  • Understand the ‘right’ engagement approaches to influence achievement of desired outcomes
  • Be proficient in analysis tools to understand the influence and power of different stakeholders
  • Select appropriate communication media to support communication objectives
  • Establish relevant measurement and verification approaches to adapt engagement techniques to improve the engagement experience

The Foundation exam is a closed book 40 minute multiple choice exam. The candidate must answer at least 25 of 50 questions correctly to pass the exam.
